Information for Prospective WSDC Members
The Wisconsin Sheep Dairy Coop is interested in adding new members or groups of members in specific geographic areas of Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. WSDC's prefered area for new members is within a 100 mile radius circle of Eau Claire, Wisconsin (see Map). New members within this area will have a better potential fit with current fluid milk routes. It is hoped that adding members in this area will increase efficiencies in distribution, milk sales, and field representative support.
Stable milk price paid to producers is based on cost of production.
All milk produced by members has been sold since coop establishment.
Growing fluid milk shipment routes and rising demand for sheepmilk.
Potential for value added income through WSDC branded products.
Quality support through a WSDC field representative and UW-Spooner ag research station.
Quantity purchase discounts on sheep dairy supplies and products.
The Economics of Sheep Dairying
Sheep Dairying has proven to be a viable alternative agricultural enterprise.
