Quality and Equipment Requirements for WSDC membership |

All WSDC member farms must meet state requirements to be licensed grade "A" diary farms.All members must have the ability to produce sheep milk that meets grade "A" quality standards (SCC<1,000,000 and bacteria plate counts< 100,000) WSDC member freezers must meet specific technical specifications for the size and type of freezer depending on the amount of milk frozen at one time. All members must have a freezer that allows for storage of an absolute minimum of 4000 lbs, but must be sized to hold about a months worth of production or 10,000 lbs, whichever is less. All members must have a method for loading 2000 lb pallets on trucks in a safe and timely manner.
